Fiberglass swimming pool
IMPORTANT
It’s important for a fiberglass pool to always remain full. This avoids possible lifting of the pool due to hydrostatic pressure. Consequently, as soon as it closes, THE POOL MUST BE FILLED ASAP. Place the water level just at the bottom of the skimmer. In addition, it would be interesting to use a submersible pump and to regularly empty the dewatering well located near the pool before and after frost to reduce this hydrostatic pressure.
Swimming pool equipped with a safety cover
IMPORTANT
It is important for this protective cover when closing that the pool is full under it. Consequently, as soon as it closes, THE POOL MUST BE FILLED ASAP. Place the water level just at the bottom of the skimmer. This will allow the cover to lean against water/ice during the winter and prevent tears.
General advice for all swimming pools
• Notify us immediately if your pool empties completely or almost completely during the winter or if your liner tears. It is important that your pool remains full of water all winter.
• If your land is full of water or if you know that the groundwater around the pool is high, raise the water level of the pool to under the skimmer
• IMPORTANT Do not worry that your pool is too full. We have taken every precaution to ensure that your pool does not have any problems. The excess water will go into the groundwater around the pool. The anchoring of the liner allows the excess water to drain away. As our saying goes: A FULL POOL IS A HEALTHY POOL
• Store accessories that have been left outside, inside or in an easily accessible place at the start of the next season
• Cut off the electricity supply to the pool equipment (pump, water heater, salt system) from the house (main panel)
• Do not turn on the pool light during the winter, it could burst or break
• Store chemicals, the pump and the salt system indoors (in a warm or temperate room) if possible
• Clean your pool equipment before storing it (ladder, jets, steps, lights)
• Secure the entrance to the pool so that no one has access to it
• Observe your pool during the winter and report any unusual phenomenon to your specialist at Piscines et Spas POSEIDON (for example a plug that comes loose, an internal bulge in the liner, a liner problem, a wall problem, a substantial water loss…)
• If necessary, check the stability and appearance of the liner or leaf net during the winter. Replace or readjust as needed after rain, wind or other
• Never break the ice on the pool
• Do not walk on the pool during the winter
• When spring comes or as soon as the ice melts, call Piscines et Spas POSEIDON to open your pool
